Prep work.....It ain't fun, but, it is like a good pair of spanx....we all need it.

So....prep work isn’t ever fun. No one is excited to do prep work. Never once have we said, “Yes!!!! Today I get to clean and sand 45 doors!! Boom!!!”. However, we do get that feeling when you see your kitchen a year down the road and it still looks great. What does a good prep job look like? Well, it is messy. There is lots & lots of dust, dirty rags & paper & tape rolls......etc. etc. etc. Bondo is our best friend on the oak doors or cabinets. This fills in any crazy stubborn oak grain, dings, dents, cracks and splits in the doors, drawers and bases. Cleaning, is an essential part to every prep job. Even when you think it is clean, you probably need to clean it again. This is by far a “pretty” step in painting your cabinets but it needs to happen.

Taking the doors off and sanding all these areas, getting on the ladder with the sanding block in one hand and a rag with cleaner in the other doesn’t sound fun.....does it? Quick question, where are you going to sand all these doors? Where are you going to brush (spraying is the best for the finished look) all these doors? We have lots of clients that use their whole house. Trust me, you don’t want to do this. 70% of the clients that call us after they have started their kitchen have confessed they fought the whole week with their spouse during the project.

Let’s skip ahead to the finished product. This looks so good. It only took us about 110/120 man hours to complete this kitchen.....this was a small kitchen. Ask yourself this question again......Do I have 110 hours to spend on painting my kitchen OR should I call LeAnn and get this done in a week? This seems like an easy answer to me. Call me or message, let us work on a plan for you and your kitchen. YOU DESERVE IT!!!!-Hugs & love!!! LeAnn
